Sir Robert David Muldoon was a New Zealand politician who served as the 31st prime minister of New Zealand, from 1975 to 1984. In addition to being a well known political figure, Muldoon was instrumental in the introduction of decimal currency to New Zealand.
As such, he was one of 10 dignitaries who were issued with their very own set of proof coins for the transition into decimalisation.
This set is incredibly rare and represents a key period of history for New Zealand.
