The varied and spectacular terrain of Australia is a bushwalkers’ paradise. In the mountains and the Red Centre, as the coast and in the forest, many popular walking tracks traverse the country. One of the best known is the Overland Track, which winds for 65 kilometres between Cradle Mountain and Lake St Clair in the Tasmanian Wilderness Heritage Area. Every year over 8,000 hikers embark on the walk, which takes five to six days to complete.

Sights include rainforest, rivers, alpine plains and mountains such as Mount Geryon and the Acropolis, viewed on the stamp from the group of tarns or glacial pools known as the Labyrinth.
