The Perth Mint and Australia Post are pleased to celebrate 50 Years of Star Trek with this unique Stamp and Coin Cover. Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, the uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs.
The coin’s reverse portrays a colour image of the actor Leonard Nimoy (1931 – 2015) giving the Vulcan salute as Spock as he appeared in Star Trek, against a representation of the IDIC Vulcan symbol and the inscription SPOCK. The design also includes The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
