2023 Queen Elizabeth II: In Memoriam Silver Proof Prestige PNC
On 8 September 2022, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away, aged 96. Born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary on 21 April 1926, Queen Elizabeth reigned as Queen of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth for 70 years and 214 days, the longest of any British monarch and the longest of any female head of state in recorded history.
This stunning silver-foiled postal numismatic cover is a beautiful tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Featuring the final Australian postage stamp produced for the late Queen, it shows Her Majesty at Windsor Castle, reportedly one of her favourite palaces, with its ornate wallpaper in the background. The photo was taken by Ranald Mackechnie to mark the Queen's platinum jubilee: it was the last official photograph released of the Queen, ahead of her funeral. In it, she is wearing a treasured aquamarine brooch – an 18th birthday gift from her beloved father. This cover includes a Royal Australian Mint, one ounce silver frosted uncirculated coin bearing the Memorial Effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
