The $5 banknote plays a key role in Australian currency history. It was first issued in 1967, when decimal currency was in its infancy. This new release forms an overview of the denomination, and gives you the chance to secure every standard Australian $5 type ever issued! Best of all, all notes are in strictly Uncirculated quality.

Collecting banknotes by ‘type’ – without reference to signature combination or date – has always been popular. However, it’s impossible to put together a complete $5 type set from circulation.

The two paper $5 types disappeared from change more than 25 years ago. The short-lived First Colour polymer $5 and one-year-only 2001 $5 Federation commemorative types are rarely seen in circulation. You may still find the more recent $5 types in your change, but they will not be in Uncirculated quality. That’s why this set is a must-have.

Your set includes all six Australian $5 banknote types. It is headlined by the scarce $5 ‘Commonwealth of Australia’ banner type, issued from 1967 to 1972. It also includes the $5 ‘Australia’ banner type, issued from 1974 until the paper $5 was replaced by polymer in the early 1990s. The 1992-95 First Colour and 1995-2016 Second Colour $5 types are also included, along with the 2001 $5 Federation commemorative note and Next Generation $5 type. Crucially, every note is presented in Uncirculated condition.

A fitting standard of presentation for this prestigious collection, each 6-note set is housed within a premium hardback presentation portfolio.
