A Maundy set is a collection of four silver coins: a penny, twopence, threepence, and fourpence. These coins have been traditionally distributed by British monarchs during the annual Maundy Thursday ceremony, a custom dating back to the 13th century when it symbolised the monarch's duty to help the poor.

The sets feature the reigning monarch’s portrait and are often sought after by collectors. The 1852 Maundy set, issued during Queen Victoria’s reign, is particularly prized due to its historical significance and the craftsmanship of the era. Only 1,702 sets were produced.
